About Stephen A. Lakner, MD
Dr. Lakner attended undergraduate and medical school at the George Washington University and School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He is a Fellow and Board-Certified member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society. He served as the President of the Shady Grove Medical Center Medical Staff and numerous terms as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Lakner has a special interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, fibroids, hysterectomy and has extensive experience with menopausal symptoms & treatment, abnormal menstrual issues and adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Lakner has been named a “Top Doc” in the Washingtonian Magazine and the Bethesda Magazine. He is fluent in French, loves sailing, tennis, skiing and travel. He is married, has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
