About Olivia Parker, PA-C

Originally from North Carolina, she relocated to Winchester in 2023 to attend Shenandoah University’s Physician Assistant program. From an early age, she knew she wanted to become a physician assistant and credits a dedicated nurse who taught her high school health science courses with inspiring her pursuit of a career in medicine.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Meredith College. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research focused on HIV treatments using plant compounds under the mentorship of a cell biology professor. She also volunteered at free clinics and worked with children undergoing cancer treatment—experiences that further strengthened her commitment to patient‑centered care and a career in healthcare.

Prior to attending PA school, she gained valuable clinical experience working in an Obstetrics and Gynecology practice, where she developed a strong interest in women’s health. Her additional healthcare experience includes work in endocrinology, pediatrics, and clinical research, allowing her to bring a well‑rounded perspective to patient care.

While in PA school, she intentionally focused her clinical education on women’s health, completing two additional Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations as well as an elective in Gynecologic Oncology. She is drawn to women’s health for its unique combination of clinical care, advocacy, and the opportunity to build long‑term relationships with patients. She values providing comprehensive, compassionate care to women at every stage of life.

Personal Interests

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new coffee shops, watching Carolina Hurricanes games, reading novels, and trying new recipes from her cookbook collection. She also loves hiking local trails with her golden retriever, Willow, and her Bernedoodle, Daisy.
