About Lorraine A. Bowen, CNM
Lorraine Bowen, CNM, CRNP graduated from The Catholic University of America in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed her graduate studies at the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing with a Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse-Midwifery specialty in 2006, and a Postmaster’s Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specialty in 2007. She pioneered the midwifery service at Capital Women’s Care in 2007. In 2021 she was instrumental in starting the CenteringPregnancy program where she is a group facilitator and the program coordinator. She functions as the representative for all nurse-midwives on the medical staff at Meritus Medical Center on the Maternal-Child Service line. Her medical interests include prepared childbirth, breastfeeding, and family-centered obstetrical care. In her free time she enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, exploring local fun spots, and spending time with her friends and family.
