Joan Lefkof, NP

Joan Lefkof has been a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner for 20 years. She is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and has spent the last 12 years in Maryland employed by Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Ms.Lefkof also served in the United States Navy, including Active Duty and Reserves, a total of 30 years. During her military career, she performed medical missions, utilizing her passion for Women’s Health for thousands of women.

Ms. Lefkof loves caring for patients of all ages in both Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her knowledge and skills include several aspects of OB and GYN care including OB dating ultrasounds, comprehensive pregnancy care, postpartum care, adolescent care, contraception, pre-conception counseling, and hormone therapy.

Ms. Lefkof received her Registered Nurse Diploma in 1985 at Saint Alexis Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and then completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at George Mason University in 1991. In 2001, she completed her Masters’ Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Womens’ Health at Kent State University. She has worked in various clinical settings, most recently at Walter Reed providing OB and GYN care for all Active Duty members and their dependents.

Ms. Lefkof is certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) as a Womens’ Health Nurse Practitioner.

Ms. Lefkof and her husband Jeff have been married for 27 years and have a daughter Dana who is a Graphic Designer in Bethesda. They love to travel and attend golf tournaments
