About Grace Bontrager, CNM
Grace is a Certified Nurse Midwife who graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, in her home state, from the University of Michigan, and has been living in Washington, D.C. for the past five years. Grace began her career in the critical care field with The George Washington University Hospital and completed her midwifery education in a diverse range of OBGYN settings across Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. She completed her inpatient training at INOVA Alexandria Hospital. Grace is very excited to be joining the Capital Women’s Care team!
As a midwife, Grace is intent on providing person-centered, individualized, and compassionate care. Grace’s philosophy of practice includes prioritizing patient autonomy and clinical evidence, empowering patients through shared decision making and self-knowledge, and the provision of well-rounded, holistic care that accounts for all aspects of a patient’s unique health and social background.
In her free time, Grace enjoys road and trail running, traveling, gardening, practicing yoga, baking, and exploring the parks around D.C. and the DMV.
