About Fatmata Conteh, MD
Dr. Fatmata Conteh was born and raised in Fairfax County, Virginia, by Sierra Leonean immigrants whose values of discipline, service, and community shaped her path toward medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and began her career as a rehabilitation counselor, supporting adults with psychiatric disorders. This work strengthened her commitment to patient advocacy and inspired her to pursue medical training.
Dr. Conteh received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed her residency at East Carolina University in North Carolina. She brings a strong dedication to compassionate care, community engagement, and continuous learning to her clinical practice.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Conteh enjoys cycling, traveling, and has recently developed a passion for heated pilates. She is also rediscovering her love of reading and welcomes any book recommendations.
