Kimberly Severn CNM grew up in rural western Pennsylvania and received her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. She worked in labor and delivery caring for high & low risk obstetrical patients. She received her MSN from George Mason University in 1985 and her MN in midwifery from Emory University in 1986. She delivered care for women in both Georgia and Florida before becoming the Director of Midwifery at Columbia Hospital for Women. She entered private practice with Dr. Townsend and Dr. Gschwend in 1995 and now delivers at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She is married and the mother of two boys. She is active at her childrens school and her church. In her spare time she enjoys sewing and playing the piano.
