Dr. Abdelazim earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland College Park, Maryland, and graduated on the Dean's list. She earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.
During her time as an undergraduate student and beyond, she received an Intramural Research Training Award from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She participated in molecular and clinical research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease as well as the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. She participated in clinical gynecologic research and a clinical trial and has successfully published four articles on biodefense and gynecologic and reproductive health. During her time in residency, Dr. Abdelazim was elected Chief Resident for medical students, family medicine, and emergency medicine residents. After eight years of medical training, Dr. Abdelazim is excited to return back home to Columbia Maryland, where she grew up, to serve her community at Capital Women's Care Howard County. Dr. Abdelazim is married to a successful computer engineer and is the proud mother of a lovely daughter.
Dr. Abdelazim has a special interest in robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, urogynecologic surgeries for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, as well as reproductive health. She remains passionate about all aspects of women's health. She equally loves the joy of delivering babies and caring for women throughout their lives giving her the opportunity to develop long lasting relationships with her patients. Dr. Abdelazim finds it important to spend time getting to know each woman in her practice.
Dr. Abdelazim is fluent in both English and Arabic. She enjoys cooking, traveling, dancing, exercising, and spending time with family and friends."
