About Anita V. Pillai-Allen, MD
Dr. Pillai-Allen did her undergraduate and medical school education at Indiana University. She then did her OB/GYN residency and Urogynecology Fellowship at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, with Dr. Tom Benson, between 1988 and 1994. She started clinical practice in Urogynecology in Honolulu, Hawaii, from 1994 until 2009, until she moved to Silver Spring, Maryland and joined Capital Women’s Care (Division 41) in 2009. She has been teaching OB/GYN residents and medical student throughout her 30 years of clinical practice. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University for resident education in surgical Urogynecology. Her primary focus is on evaluation and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, recurrent UTIs and other pelvic floor disorders. She and her husband have raised 4 adult children and enjoy travel and the arts in their spare time.
