About Sheila Bennett, CNM

She completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1987 and continued her studies at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia to obtain to Master of Science in nursing with a specialization in midwifery in 1993.
Sheila has made a point of accumulating the most extensive international experience to offer her patients adequate multicultural medical care. She’s lived in Bogota, Colombia as a foreign exchange student and in the Democratic Republic as a US Peace Corps volunteer in maternal-child health. Her fluency in French and Spanish contributed to her success on the medical missions she took to Haiti and St. Lucia.
Sheila is dedicated to helping adolescent women tackle the difficulties thrown at them on a daily basis. She’s invested in advancing diagnosis and treatments for sexually transmitted infections, educating women about contraceptives and sexual health, and has years of expertise performing many gynecologic procedures.
She’s also been the recipient of the nationally recognized Excellence in Teaching Award in 2001.
