Optimal Women’s Health

At Capital Women’s Care, we encourage all patients to live a healthy lifestyle through nutrition, physical activity, and good choices. In the women’s health section of their website, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided some helpful tips. Below is a quick list of easy to implement lifestyle changes to enhance your overall health:

  • Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in your daily meal plans.
  • Avoid foods that are high in calories, saturated fat, salt, and added sugar.
  • Select lean meats and low fat, low sugar dairy products.
  • Make physical activity a priority each day – even small amounts help your overall goals.
  • Choose beverages with no calories, such as water and unsweetened tea.
  • Do not smoke or abuse drugs, including prescription medication.
  • Avoid alcohol completely or drink sensibly, in moderation.
  • Schedule and keep all your recommended women’s health exams each year.
  • Wear sunscreen every day, even when it’s cloudy outside.
